At the Downtown Hope Center, we provide a hand up and out of homelessness. Our Feed Me Hope Bakery Program, Culinary Program, and Food Truck help our guests gain the skills they need to transform their lives. Catering services are also offered through our Feed Me Hope bakery & culinary school.
Volunteers are the backbone of the Downtown Hope Center. Our center operates with the help of 20% staff and 80% volunteers! See the many ways you can help in our kitchen, shelter and shower house and sign up to volunteer today!
We rely on private donations of clothing, food, hygiene products and money to meet the needs of our guests. Donate online, through

Seven days a week, 9am-1:30pm, volunteers help prepare a hot lunch to serve Anchorage’s homeless and low-income community. The soup kitchen is a great place to start volunteering!
Feed Me Hope Bakery offers job skill training to women who are homeless or in crisis situations seeking life transformation and looking for an opportunity to gain valuable work experience.
Neighboring the Hope Center is an 18 unit apartment complex we like to call our Safe Place of Healing. The apartments are available to students in our program and to women who are struggling with addiction or coming out of abusive situations and/or human trafficking.
At the Hope Center we have a safe space where approximately 70 women can rest every night. We provide our female guests three meals a day, laundry and shower services, case management and spiritual care.
Here guests can receive a hot drink and pastry as they wait to receive clothing and showers. While guests shower they can have their cold, wet clothes washed in our laundry room. This area is also where guests receive their mail.
Feed Me Hope Culinary School gives homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals the opportunity to transform their lives through culinary training, life coaching, and job placement.
Our Food Truck is an extension of our Feed Me Hope Bakery that teaches our bakery students customer service skills and entrepreneurship. All proceeds are poured back into the Feed Me Hope Program.
Integrated into our Culinary Program we use healthy ingredients to meet the nutritional needs of our guests. The garden is abundant with chard, herbs, kale, parsley and much more! The garden is maintained by volunteers.
Our Feed Me Hope bakery & culinary program can cater everything from soups, salads, and sandwiches to prime rib dinners, cakes, and cookies. All proceeds fund our Feed Me Hope Job Training program.
